Europe Kicks Off the HCT Fall Playoffs

0 komentar

With Season 2 of the Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) behind us, it’s time for the Fall Playoffs! Top players from across Europe have submitted their deck lists and will now spend the weekend locked in intense matches in hopes of securing a seat at the upcoming Fall Championship. So, what’s being brought to the biggest HCT event of the Boomsday meta so far? Odd Rogue Plenty of people are banking on the pressure-oriented Odd Rogue to take quick games. Odd Rogue continues to utilize many familiar tools, but the deck has evolved to include Giggling Inventors, Blood Knights, and the occasional Myra’s Unstable Element. Giggling Inventor provides multiple bodies for Odd Rogue to land Fungalmancers or Cold Bloods on, and the power that Blood Knight represents—not only in stealing enemy Divine Shields, but also turning your own into additional damage potential—is a definite meta call. Odd Rogue is the choice of players who like to end games early, like Marco “Turna” Castiglioni and Thomas “Sintolol” Zimmer. Token Druid While all but a handful of Europe’s competitors will field Druid in their lineup, the surprisingly popular choice to push damage with Wispering Woods, Soul of the Forest, and Savage Roar in Token Druid makes up nearly half of all the Druid decks in the Europe Playoffs. You’ll see Malygos, Togwaggle, Spiteful, Big, Mecha’thun, and Taunt Druid, too, but Token is certainly the one to watch. Interestingly, only two of Europe’s top 10 point earners from Season 2—George “BoarControl” Webb and Idan “Glaser” Glaser—brought the archetype, with all the others choosing other Malfurion flavors. Quest Rogue The Caverns Below has exploded back on to the scene in a big way. Giggling Inventor resuscitated this archetype, and Quest Rogue has in many ways reclaimed the anti-control throne from Shudderwock Shaman. Valeera the Hollow is now a standard inclusion, and these deck lists are very, very refined—variations are distinguished by only a single card, sometimes two. The first-ever Hearthstone Master, Casper “Hunterace” Notto, will be joined in piloting this highly technical deck by popular contemporaries like Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh. Cube Hunter Rexxar doesn’t hunt quite as alone any more. A wide range of people brought variants on this Deathrattle-oriented Hunter style, and they’ve got distinct game plans. The consistent core of Devilsaur Eggs, Carnivorous Cubes, and Kathrena Winterwisp will be filled in with a range of tech choices to gain edges in different matchups. HCT Summer champion Raphael “Bunnyhoppor” Peltzer and Hearthstone Global Games (HGG) Team Germany teammate Torben “Viper” Wahl are both counting on the snowball potential of this beastly archetype. Odd Warrior If shutting down aggression and tempo appeals to you, you’ll want to join Thijs “Thijs” Molendijk and James “Greensheep” Luo in slamming the Tank Up Hero Power with Odd Warrior. Vulnerable almost exclusively to the killer combo decks like Shudderwock Shaman or Quest Rogue, Odd Warrior has all the tools to reclaim the board from their opponent while continually building up huge amounts of Armor. The addition of Dr. Boom, Mad Genius gives this playstyle even more ability to take control as the game progresses. This is only a small sampling of the huge range of classes and archetypes that will be in play this weekend at the Europe Playoffs! Tune in to the official Hearthstone Twitch channel starting at 1:00 a.m. PDT on Sept. 1 and 2 to catch all the action. Which deck are you most excited to see played? Who are you cheering for to reach the HCT Fall Championship? Let us know in the comments!

Meet the Teams: Team Genji

0 komentar

Welcome back to Meet the Teams! You’ve already had a chance to get to know Red Reserve and Intrepid Fox—this month, learn more about Team Genji, who recently finished in fourth place overall in the Pro Team Standings for Season 2. Give It Up for Team Genji A double threat in the Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) Pro Team Standings, Team Genji fields two rosters. Their current lineups feature the following players: Team Genji Blue Jérôme “Monsanto” Faucher Joffrey “Swidz” Cunat Linh “Seiko” Nguyen Team Genji Red Francisco “PNC” Leimontas Thomas “Sintolol” Zimmer Jamal “Kycoo” El Moutaoikil The Season 2 roster for Team Genji Blue featured Sintolol, Seiko, and PNC, who took fourth place with a whopping 161 combined points. Speaking to the entire crew, we got some great perspective on their attitude and aptitude as a unified force. Across this roster, there’s a lot of competitive Hearthstone experience. “I started competing in early 2016,” Sintolol says. He was inspired to push harder after seeing Philipp “Nicslay” Hehn make the 2016 HCT Europe Winter Championship. PNC made it to Spring Playoffs around the same time. “I wasn’t very good back then,” PNC says, laughing. “If you play a lot, you don’t even have to be that good,” Sintolol shoots back. Monsanto thinks there’s some wisdom to that, however. “I just played more and more progressively until I became semi-pro,” he says. “Play a lot, and then you get good!” Sintolol suggests that the time investment is often as important as—if not more important than—straight skill level. Great Minds Ten people are smarter than one. Sintolol You get the sense there’s chemistry and camaraderie among the team as they chirp each other back and forth. Speaking on playing as part of a team, Sintolol says, “It’s not only us. We’re part of larger practice groups. We talk to the other teams—Tempo Storm or F2K, for example—about decks and lineups. You don’t have time to play a ton of games when you have to travel, so we theorycraft together. Ten people are smarter than one.” Team Genji are especially excited to be playing in the new Boomsday meta. Discussing how to play and test in the early days after a new set launches, Monsanto says, “I just play thousands of games.” His advice to anyone looking to figure out a new set is just to play as much as possible. Sintolol also likes to just jam lots of games: “I usually wait for my friends and teammates to come up with something,” he jokes. Their fourth-place finish is phenomenal, but Team Genji isn’t resting on their laurels. “I think we’re really good—probably among the best,” Monsanto says. “The best teams right now are F2K and Tempo Storm.” Asked if they could pass them, Monsanto added: “I think it’s possible.” The team hopes to get both of their three-person teams into the Pro Team Standings leaderboard in Season 3. The Best Around I think we’re really good—probably among the best. Monsanto Overall, the team says they’re excited about the field. Their joint belief is that the dialogue with the other teams—all of whom love Hearthstone—gives everyone a sense of being a part of something bigger. Congratulations to Team Genji on their success in Season 2, and best of luck in Season 3! These are players you can be sure you’ll see in tournaments throughout the remainder of the 2018 Hearthstone Championship Tour. Who’s your favorite Team Genji player? Which team would you like to learn about next? Let us know in the comments!

Pro Scene Point Update: August 2018

0 komentar

With July behind us, the second point-earning season of the 2018 Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) is at an end. In addition to Playoff invitations going out to the best players in each region, we also know which teams topped the first-ever Pro Team Standings seasonal leaderboard. Join us in congratulating the top 10 teams in competitive Hearthstone this season! Pro Team Standings - Season 2 Final Rank Team CP Prize per Player 1 Tempo Storm 210 $7,500 2 F2K 196 $4,500 3 Nordavind 189 $3,000 4 Team Genji Blue 161 $2,500 5 compLexity Gaming 136 $2,000 6 ChaRon 131 $1,750 7 SK Gaming 130 $1,500 8 Red Reserve 126 $1,250 9 Omnislash 119 $1,000 10 Helsinki REDS 119 $750 The unquestioned dominance of F2K all season was finally shattered in the eleventh hour by Tempo Storm, whose team members posted extraordinary results in the July season to take first, second, and fifth place overall individually in the Americas. ChaRon narrowly edged past both SK Gaming and Red Reserve, as well. Hearthstone Masters In addition to the awesome performances of all the organizations competing in Pro Team Standings, Nordavind’s Casper “Hunterace” Notto managed to secure crucial points at HCT Italy and HCT Tokyo in July to cross the 150-point threshold and become the first-ever 1-Star Hearthstone Master! As announced late last year, the Hearthstone Masters System recognizes players for consistent performance—and Hunterace is beyond consistent. The program uses the rolling sum of points earned in the three most recent HCT point-earning seasons (effective with Season 1 of 2018), but Hunterace has flown past the 1-Star benchmark in just two point-earning seasons! This is an incredible feat, and we want to extend very special congratulations to Hunterace for being the inaugural Hearthstone Master. You can see Hunterace compete in the upcoming Fall Playoffs in Europe. We look forward to seeing all the action in the upcoming Fall Playoffs and Championship, as well as which players and teams will lead the pack in Season 3! Who are you cheering for to advance to the HCT World Championship? Which team do you think will rule the roost this season? Let us know in the comments!

Monsanto’s Boomsday Deck Designs

0 komentar

As the competitive meta in The Boomsday Project begins to take shape, we asked Team Genji’s Jérôme “Monsanto” Faucher to give us his ideas for a lineup of decks he’d tinker with. Monsanto brewed these ideas up in the run-up to the launch of Boomsday, and we’ve already seen similar ideas make a splash in tournaments like HCT Germany. Check them out below! Malygos Druid An immediately popular idea as the new Boomsday Druid cards were revealed, Monsanto’s take on Malygos Druid uses Juicy Psychmelon to guarantee Dreampetal Florist and Malygos find their way into his hand, and then Faceless Manipulator and Flobbidinous Floop ensure there will be plenty of Spell Damage to go around. “Dreampetal Florist can reduce the cost of Malygos, Flobbidinous Floop, or Faceless Manipulator—it doesn’t really matter which,” Monsanto explains. A reduced-cost Malygos is optimal, but getting a free Faceless Manipulator or Flobbidinous Floop will still get the job done. The only drawback, Monsanto notes, is running into Warrior or Druid decks that can build up enough Armor to prevent the burst combo from working. But that, too, can be dealt with, he says: “If the meta is Armor-heavy, you can go back to a version that uses The Lich King and Alexstrasza.” Aggro Hunter I will hunt you down! Monsanto is looking to unleash both hounds and bombs with intense early game in this Aggro Hunter deck list, featuring a handful of ways to develop Goblin Bombs—and cards like Goblin Prank and Wargear to help set them off. “Hunter’s direct-damage reach has never been this high,” Monsanto says. “I’m expecting this deck to be very powerful. Steady Shot and extra burn is scary.” He’s looking particularly at the skill-testing risk his opponents have to take in either choosing to set off Goblin Bombs on themselves, or leaving those Mech bodies up to be targets for Magnetic minions or Goblin Pranks. Inner Fire Mech Priest Priest has always excelled at turning otherwise not-so-scary minions into big threats. “A lot of Mechs have very Health-efficient stats,” Monsanto says. “This makes them very good in a deck like Inner Fire Priest.” He likes the ability to turn safe 2-Cost minions like Unpowered Mauler or Upgradeable Framebot into more significant damage using Bronze Gatekeeper or Extra Arms while you wait for the critical spells (Divine Spirit and Inner Fire) to show up. “The point of the deck is to be very aggressive,” Monsanto adds. There are some extra combinations available here to really push value: Lady in White makes a lot of these minions immediately more powerful, and Meat Wagon being able to fish up a big Unpowered Steambot if Lady in White hasn’t shown up yet. Meat Wagon is itself a Mech, too, and eligible to receive all those Magnetic upgrades! Mecha'thun Warrior There’s no way this list would be complete without a Mecha’thun deck. “In order to make a Mecha’thun deck work, you need to assemble a deck that can cycle really fast and play every single card as quickly as possible,” Monsanto says. “The combo is: with 10 or more Armor, play The Boomship to summon Mecha’thun for 9 Mana, then Shield Slam it after using every other card in the deck to win the game instantly.” It looks like a ton of fun, but Monsanto warns that Skulking Geist—which destroys 1-Cost spells in both players’ hands and decks—totally invalidates this game plan. That’s it! Kudos to Monsanto for taking the time to supply us with these four competitive deck ideas. Have you stumbled upon a deck list you think is tournament-worthy yourself? Share it with us in the comments!

The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational’s Top Secret Decklists—Unveiled!

0 komentar

Science is best enjoyed when everyone can get in on the experimentation, so we’re releasing our research on all the fascinating plays and compelling combos from The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational. With these notes in hand, you’ll be set to blast your opponents with SCIENCE! Didn’t watch The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational? Read more about it here, or watch the tournament VODs, then check out the decks for yourself below! Teams: Team South Korea Team Taiwan Team North America Team Europe Team South Korea The South Korean crew is looking to control the cadence of their opponents’ game plans with a Pogo-Hopper Rogue; take trades with a wide board in a more midrange Shaman; slowly manipulate the battlefield with a controlling Quest Warlock; and play for the long game in an Odd Warrior. This is a lineup that will flourish if they can hit their key removal but could crumble under the pressure from enemy early game. Warrior Rogue Shaman Warlock Team Taiwan Taiwan has a wicked-fast Aggro Mage that employs the new Spell Damage cards; a Divine Spirit/Inner Fire Priest with multiple big Mech bodies; a Control Warlock with a scary Mecha’thun finisher; and their own Odd Warrior leaning heavily on Rush and Mech minions. While there’s not as clear of a trend to this lineup, Taiwan has options to counter almost anything they’re up against. Mage Warrior Warlock Priest Team North America The North American team has a safe Odd Paladin featuring a handful of powerful new Mechs; an Even Shaman taking advantage of additional Elemental and Overload synergies; an aggressive Zoo Warlock variant without the otherwise popular healing package; and a low-curve Control Warrior with the all-new Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. They're looking to play efficiently by getting out in front of their opponents with a strong and consistent early game. Even Shaman Odd Paladin Control Warrior Zoo Warlock Team Europe Team Europe has elected to utilize their take on a defensive, fast-ramping Malygos Druid; a high-pressure Deathrattle Rogue packing Necrium Blades and Vials; a more traditional-looking Aggro Shaman that wants to end the game using Electra Stormsurge and Bloodlust; and their own Demon Zoo with a partial Nethersoul Buster support setup. Europe is all-in on burst, whether through the combo stylings of their Druid or the hard-hitting, board-based game plan of their three other decks. Rattle Rogue Malygos Druid Token Shaman Demon Zoo

The Boomsday Project has commenced! You can now purchase and open card packs! For a limited time, log in to claim a random Class Legendary minion (or Hero card), and three card packs—both from The Boomsday Project—FREE! Get 3 more The Boomsday Project card packs FREE when you log in after The Puzzle Lab launches starting August 21. The Boomsday Project Operating out of Boom Labs—a secret world-class facility located in the beautiful, purple-lightning wracked floating islands of Netherstorm near Area 52—the Boomsday Project is the brainchild of the renowned Dr. Boom. Once a researcher at Area 52, Dr. Boom struck out alone and became a rising star in the fields of Mech design and rapid catastrophic disassembly. Dr. Boom is at the top of his field, and the time is ripe to tackle new challenges. Enter The Boomsday Project, a multi-disciplinary research endeavor that’s sure to change the world—forever! Somehow. His team is still working out the details. . . . Startling Science! Boom Labs is proud to unveil its most exciting innovation yet: Legendary spells! Every researcher has conceived of a Legendary spell suited to their unique talents—that’s one astounding new spell for each of the nine Classes! With the unparalleled power of these Legendary spells at your fingertips, the Boomsday Project will be finished in no time—whatever it is! Weird Scientists! In the wondrous—and perilous—laboratories at Boom Labs, you’ll encounter the finest minds in cutting-edge SCIENCE! You’ll meet the wonderfully weird head scientists—meteorologists, astronomers, biologists, soulologists, and more—who study it! There’s a specialist in all nine Classes, including the infamous Dr. Boom himself. They’re not all specialists, though. Some of the geniuses wandering around the facility dabble in a little bit of everything. . . . Marvelously Magnetic Dr. Boom designed many of the Mechs that can be found in The Boomsday Project with Magnetic capabilities! Mechs with the power of this new keyword can merge with other Mechs as you play them to tackle even the toughest of tasks! Simply place your Magnetic Mech to the left of any Mech you’ve already got on the board and they’ll fuse ALL their stats and card text together into a bigger, more powerful minion! Need them to stay independent? No problem. Just place your Mech down to the right of an existing Mech (or next to any non-Mech minions), and they’ll stay un-plugged to handle smaller tasks (and avoid getting blown up by powerful single-target effects or removal). Helping Hands Occasionally, you’ll welcome unwilling participants to assist in your methodical madness! There are new Project spell cards in several disciplines that benefit both you and your opponent. There’s still only room for one winner, though, so you’ll need to carefully measure your decisions. To ensure that no troublesome regulators or meddling do-gooders interfere with your Projects, Dr. Boom has assigned Omega team to the defense of Boom Labs. This elite hench-unit has rapid response capabilities, but they’re at their best when their custom-designed Omega generators are at max capacity with 10 mana crystals fully charged! Ponder the Puzzle Labs on August 21 The Boomsday Project's free single-player content, The Puzzle Lab, opens on August 21! Apply your scientific acumen to dissecting dozens of discombobulating puzzles including Lethal, Board Clear, Mirror, and Survival! If you prove up to the task of untangling every last puzzle in Boom Labs, you can proudly display the Boomsday! card back in your collection! The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational The Boomsday Inn-vitational will feature twelve players from four different countries, all vying to prove their brilliance in Boom Labs! This grand experiment will unfold live on the official Hearthstone Twitch.tv channel on August 10 PDT. Check out the blog for details! Welcome to The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational!

0 komentar

There are explosions and uproars aplenty in Boom Labs, but it’s about to get a little more chaotic with The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational, the first tournament where The Boomsday Project’s cards will see competitive play. We previously saw North America and Europe defend the Witchwood. Now, some of Taiwan and South Korea’s finest players are joining the fray to bring you some of the most spectacular decks and plays of the new meta! (And yes, world champion tom60229 is in this brawl, too!) Players & Talent The twelve competitors will be split into four teams of three. Competing in The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational are: North America Ant Alliestrasza Trump Europe Dane J4CKIECHAN Thijs Taiwan ahqRoger tom60229 ahqShaxy South Korea rhdgurwns DDaHyoNi RenieHouR Casting these explosive shenanigans will be Nathan “ThatsAdmirable” Zamora, Dan “Frodan” Chou, and Jace "DrJikininki" Garthright! Format While it’s true that too many cooks can spoil the broth, the good employees of Boom Labs theorize that the more scientific hands in an experiment, the better! Instead of each tournament round being played by just one player (as might be the norm of other less...ambitious scientific institutions), The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational will have the different teams take on each best-of-three round together! However every project undertaken at Boom Labs always needs an assistant (or two, or eight). Each deck in the tournament will have a minimum of 8 cards from The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational. Keen observers like yourself will also be interested to know that the tournament will be played in Round Robin format, which will allow you to record any and all interactions and/or discrepancies in the tournament. Any scientist worth their salt will know that thorough experimentation is the order of the day when you want to figure out the best decks for the meta! But in case you happen to be indisposed while we conduct The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational, you’ll be pleased to know that we’ll be sharing all these inventive new decks with you as early as TKTKTK. Tournament Broadcast The Boomsday Project Inn-vitational will air on the PlayHearthstone Twitch channel on August 10, 2018, at 9 a.m PDT. Watch the stream below, or head over to our Twitch channel to be part of chat! Check out our Fireside Gatherings celebration campaign if you’ve got a regular Fireside Gathering going or you simply want to celebrate The Boomsday Project’s launch with some friends. Remember that this is also your last chance to pick up The Boomsday Project pack pre-purchase—read on to find out how! Pre-purchase to Become Part of the Project Now! Pre-Purchase Your pre-purchase comes with 50 The Boomsday Project card packs, 1 random Golden The Boomsday Project legendary card, and the Mecha-Jaraxxus card back! Mega Bundle This bundle includes 80 The Boomsday Project card packs, 1 random Golden The Boomsday Project Legendary card, the Mecha-Jaraxxus card back, AND a new Warlock Hero to add to your collection: MECHA-JARAXXUS, EREDAR LORD OF THE MEGA BUNDLE! You can get both The Boomsday Project pre-purchase AND the Mega Bundle, though each is only purchasable once per account. You can use your new card back and Warlock Hero right away, but you’ll have to wait to dissect your packs and determine which Golden Legendary (or Legendaries!) awaits you after The Boomsday Project commences August 7. Visit TheBoomsdayProject.com and the official Facebook gallery to see all the cards that have been published for peer review. Confer with your colleagues on Twitter using the #Boomsday hashtag, and review project-related videos on YouTube.

Cheap Shot: Building a Deck

0 komentar

In this first entry in our Cheap Shot series, we’ve got Jace “DrJikininki” Garthright—winner of 2017’s Americas Winter Playoffs—here to help you build a tournament-worthy deck without breaking the Arcane Dust bank. Competing without a complete collection can feel daunting, but DrJikininki says it’s very doable. “When you’re first starting out, you want to build more aggressive, board-centric decks—they’re typically the cheapest, and pretty easy to pick up,” says DrJikininki. “Classes like Warlock, Paladin, and Hunter all do this very well, as most of their powerful cards are Rares and Commons.” There are plenty of examples of Basic and Classic cards that are strong and have seen play consistently over the years: Hunter’s Savannah Highmane, Paladin’s Truesilver Champion, and Warlock’s Doomguard, just to name a few. “I would stick with those three classes, but you should just start off with whatever you enjoy playing,” DrJikininki adds. In terms of building a tournament lineup of your own, DrJikininki says that it’s important to craft cards that can multitask. “Make sure to craft neutral cards that can fit into a wide variety of decks,” he says. “For example, a neutral card like Knife Juggler can be played in many different aggressive decks, where class cards can only be played in their own specific decks.” He recommends thinking about the implications of crafting each card before doing so. “Building a lineup this way is definitely difficult, but it can be done,” DrJikininki adds. “I would tend to lean towards aggressive decks, since they’re often the least expensive. A wide variety of cards are similar in the decks, and I would look to try and find decks with similar cards.” In the Year of the Raven, he recommends looking at something like odd-Cost decks using Baku, the Mooneater. “They run some of the same odd-Cost cards, so it may help you to go down that path.” The question on everyone’s minds, though, is this: Can a player be competitive this way? “Of course,” DrJikininki says. “I remember one of my friends (Russel "Daninja" Dea) playing in a tournament qualifier on the Asia server with nothing but Boulderfist Ogre decks—and he won his first round! It may be more difficult, but it’s worth the hard work and dedication to achieve.” Special thanks to DrJikininki for his insight into how to leverage a low-cost lineup to maximum effect! If you’ve got a great deck list to play that doesn’t include a ton of Epic or Legendary cards, share it with us in the comments.

Developer Insights: 12.0 Arena Update with Kris Zierhut

Welcome back for another inside look at updates coming to the Arena! Your feedback helps shape our approach to this game mode, so we’ve been following the Arena-related conversations closely in the community. Card Variety Just like how we want to keep win rates per class within a percentage range, we also want to maintain variety in Arena card selection. Each class had a group of cards that appeared almost twice on average per Arena run, and we focused on reducing this appearance rate in the coming 12.0 update. We also looked at the appearance rate of class cards, spells, and weapons. We think it’s valuable for these cards to show up often for several reasons: they make playing each Class feel unique, they change the pace of a match, they help create more skill-testing situations, and finally, many of these cards offer opportunities for a player to catch up from behind, which results in more interesting games. That, the appearance bonus for these cards is currently too high, causing them to appear so frequently that they can make Arena matches feel repetitive. To solve that, we’re reducing the appearance rates of these cards as follows in the upcoming update: Class Cards: +100% -> +50% Spells and Weapons: +75% -> +50% Note that these bonuses multiply, which means that spells and weapons will have a net 125% increase in appearance rate, instead of their old 250% net increase. Rarity In our last blog, we also took a close look at card appearance by rarity. Each class had a group of Rare-quality cards that showed up more often than desired. Reducing the appearance bonuses for class, spell, and weapon cards helped that problem somewhat, but it didn’t fully resolve it. Additionally, when Rare cards are offered side by side with Basic and Common cards, they get picked more often, which can result in them being selected and played more frequently than their appearance rate would suggest. For those reasons, we’re lowering the appearance rate of Rare and Epic cards. Picks 1, 10, 20, and 30 always offer Rare or better cards and will continue to do so. For all the other picks, Rare cards will appear about 11% of the time, and Epic cards about 5% of the time. Appearance Rates As part of our effort to better explain how Arena works, we’d also like to share with you the current appearance rate for all cards. For each class, we ran a simulation of 100,000 Arena drafts. The spreadsheet linked below reveals how often each card showed up for each class. We hope this gives some insight into the chance of seeing various cards. These rates will change over time, but this one-time look should give you a clue as to how the system works. Appearance Rates .csv What’s in the Bucket? Since our last blog, players have also been requesting a glimpse into the contents of each bucket in the Arena draft system. Today, we’ll give you a one-time look at that as well. Remember that card promotion or demotion is almost entirely due to a very high or very low pick rate (how many times picked divided by how many times offered). One notable exception is Mind Control Tech. That card is being picked a reasonable rate for the typical card, but still often felt oppressive, so in the 12.0 update, it will be promoted anyway. Card Buckets .csv Thanks for tuning in, and we hope this look behind the curtain was illuminating. The Arena system will continue to evolve, so keep your feedback coming. We’ll see you in the Tavern!

0 komentar

The August 2018 Ranked Play Season is now live—and we’re unveiling a new card back you can add to your collection! Even with the strongest deck and a mind for strategy, sometimes things just don’t go our way—but that’s okay! Do we lay down our cards, and concede to the vagaries of fate? NO! What to do when luck gives us lemons? Why, we make a tall glass of refreshing lemonade, of course! The next victory is only a match away, so queue up for the August Ranked Play Season and make the Lemonade card back yours! These card backs replace the art decorating the reverse side of your cards and are a great way to show off your Hearthstone accomplishments. Add the Lemonade card back to your collection by winning 5 games at any Rank in either Standard or Wild Ranked Play modes. You’ll receive the Lemonade card back at the end of August’s Ranked Play Season in your Ranked Play reward chest. You earn Ranked Play reward chests based on your highest earned rank over the course of a Ranked Play season. Reward chests may contain seasonal card backs, Arcane Dust, and golden cards, and can be obtained by playing in either Standard or Wild Ranked Play modes. You’ll be awarded one chest per Ranked Play season based on your highest rank between the two modes. Don’t forget—the further you move up the Ranked Play ladder, the more of a head start you’ll get on climbing the ladder the following month. After the Ranked Play season ends, you’ll be reset four Ranks below the highest Rank you achieved the previous season once the new season begins. If you manage to reach Legend, you’ll be reset to Rank 4. When your topdeck gives you lemons, make yourself some Refreshing Lemonade in August’s Ranked Play Season!
