Kobolds & Catacombs: Tempting Treasures

0 komentar

Glorious, glorious loot is a huge part of the Kobolds & Catacombs story. Join us as we discover the troves of tempting treasures that Kobolds & Catacombs holds in store for you when it arrives in December. Weapons of Legend Legendary adventures call for Legendary weapons! From mystical blades wreathed in eldritch energies to staves imbued with the wisdom of ancient ages, mighty magical weapons are the calling cards of great heroes. In that spirit, all nine classes can seek out their own Legendary weapons in Kobolds & Catacombs! To start you on your quest, you’ll be granted one random Legendary weapon for FREE just for logging in after Kobolds & Catacombs is released. Each Legendary weapon has its own flavor and unique power. While every class will be able to equip a weapon, those weapons will reflect the character of the classes that wield them. For example, the classes most known for spell-flinging in Hearthstone—Mage, Warlock, and Priest—each have weapons with 0 attack. They’re potent magical artifacts that grant vast powers, but they’re not meant to be swung in combat. Once wielded by Aegwynn, the last true Guardian of Tirisfal and mother of Medivh, the Mage Legendary weapon is the staff Aluneth. An inexhaustible fountain of dangerous arcane knowledge, it empowers a Mage to quickly draw key cards in the late game . . . at the cost of drawing what remains of their deck with perilous speed. More legendary weapons remain undiscovered in the catacombs! Their secrets will be revealed as we draw nearer to release. Glorious Gear Unidentified Items Delving into dungeons can be a quick and dirty business. When a monster is breathing down your neck, sometimes you need make use of the items you find almost as soon as you’ve found them. That’s where Unidentified items come in. Do you dare take a sip of that mysterious glowing potion? What effects might it have? Every time you draw your Unidentified Elixir, it has the potential to turn into one of four potions that add their abilities to the base text on the card! There are two more Unidentified items waiting to be discovered in Kobolds & Catacombs. You’ll have some idea regarding what each one is capable of when you add them to your deck, but you’ll have a variety of interesting (and powerful!) side effects to look forward to whenever you draw them! Spellstones There are stories of mysterious stones imbued with strange magics that can be found within the catacombs. Rumor has it that the Spellstones were forged for a dark purpose, but for now, they lie in the dust, inert, waiting for someone to awaken their power. One type of Spellstone was created for each of the nine classes. Heroes that add Spellstones to their deck can awaken them from their slumber, though each one has a unique key – they might be empowered by gaining armor, or casting spells, or Overloading mana crystals. Behold the Shaman’s Sapphire Spellstone: In its dormant state, the Sapphire Spellstone copies a friendly minion for 7 mana. But after its wielder fully empowers the stone, it can be combined with a huge minion to summon a powerful army in an instant! The Quest Begins Soon! You’ve only taken your very first steps into the winding tunnels of Kobolds & Catacombs. An adrenaline-pumping adventure of tremendous treasures, prodigious perils, and a cornucopia of candle-loving kobolds awaits! Stay tuned in the coming weeks as more Kobolds & Catacombs cards are revealed, when we’ll unveil more about the loot that awaits within those forgotten depths. Gather Your Party for Kobolds & Catacombs

Get ready to delve deep into an unexplored underground realm packed with malignant monsters, terrifying traps, and treasures beyond imagination! Gather your party for Hearthstone’s newest Expansion: Kobolds & Catacombs! Explore the catacombs, survive deadly encounters, and unearth wondrous treasures! Azeroth’s rat-like, candle-loving cave folk—the kobolds—have been digging deep beneath the surface for millennia. Their catacombs stretch on for miles, wending through forbidden tombs and breaking through the walls of long-forgotten treasure vaults. A hoard of glorious loot is there for the taking—if you can survive the dangers that lurk in those uncharted tunnels! Secreted away in Kobolds & Catacombs await many wonders, including: Dungeon Runs: FREE repeatable single-player experience where everything you need is provided! Legendary weapon collectible cards for ALL nine classes A new keyword: Recruit In total, 135 new cards to add to your collection! Dungeon Runs Dungeon Run is a new insanely fun, single-player “rogue-like” mode where you’ll face deadly encounters and collect incredible Treasures to build a deck worthy of a hero! When your Dungeon Run starts, you’ll choose a Hero and receive a starting deck consisting of 10 cards. You’ll use it to overcome eight encounters of increasing difficulty (chosen randomly from a huge pool of 48 possible encounters!) to clear the run. That initial deck might be enough to help you squeak by your first opponent, but you’ll need to get stronger if you hope to clear the whole run. Each time you defeat a Dungeon Run encounter, you’ll be given an opportunity to “level up” your Dungeon Run deck with themed sets of three cards appropriate to your class. Occasionally, you’ll also be able to pick from a selection of three incredibly powerful Treasure cards—non-collectible cards and abilities made just for this mode that are too blatantly overpowered to see normal play. You’ll need all that power—as well as your wits—because these encounters can be fiendishly difficult. Victory is not assured, and each encounter has its own unique perils. If one of them gets the better of you, defeat is permanent, so you’ll have to start a different run with a whole new deck! If you manage to complete a full Dungeon Run with each of the nine Classes—no mean feat!—you’ll add the Candle King card back to your collection. Legendary Weapon: Dragon Soul Kobolds & Catacombs brings the power of Legendary weapons to Hearthstone! Dragon Soul is merely the first to be revealed—there are eight other magnificently potent artifacts for you to wield in the Catacombs, one for each of the nine classes in Hearthstone. Marin the Fox Legendary adventure requires legendary adventurers, and Marin the Fox is an adventurer’s adventurer! This cunning rogue knows the ins and outs of every dungeon, and he’s delving deep into the Catacombs in search of a storied chest brimming with ridiculously powerful magical items. You’ll need his expertise if you hope to survive your adventure through the catacombs. Fortune favors you, though, because EVERYONE can add Marin to their collection for FREE just by logging in, starting Monday, November 6 right up until Kobolds & Catacombs launches. BlizzCon attendees and Virtual Ticket holders will also get the golden version of Marin. Attending BlizzCon or getting the Virtual Ticket is the only way to get the golden version of Marin—he can’t be crafted or disenchanted. You’ll be able to add Marin to your decks and use him in games soon after Blizzcon*, before Kobolds & Catacombs is released! If you don’t manage to obtain Marin before Kobolds & Catacombs arrives, you’ll be granted a copy of his card the first time you acquire a Kobolds & Catacombs card pack after release. Now that you know how to get Marin, let’s pick the lock on that chest and see what it might contain, shall we? In Good Company Treasure is the glittering heart of Kobolds & Catacombs, but to truly capture the fantasy of delving into dungeons, you need Adventurers to go after the shiny stuff! Gather your party with a new keyword: Recruit. Recruit summons a random minion from your deck, and it shows up only on cards associated with the adventurer characters in Kobolds & Catacombs. Recruit introduces some interesting deckbuilding decisions, and because it sometimes comes with key limitations, such as mana cost, you’ll need to make careful choices about how many minions—and which ones—you include in your deck. Colorful Kobolds! Kobolds are key figures in Kobolds & Catacombs; after all, they were the ones who dug all these miles of tunnels and chambers with their endless excavations. Despite living nearly their whole lives underground, kobolds don’t like the dark. They all wear a lit candle on their heads, and while they might jealously defend the piles of gold, jewels, and magical artifacts that can be found in their domain, every kobold’s most treasured possession is that bit of wax and wick. If you venture into the catacombs, remember the refrain: You no take candle! Gear Up for Adventure! This is merely a small glimpse of Kobolds & Catacombs to whet your appetite for what is to come when it arrives in December. There is much more to discover as we delve deeper in the “Hearthstone - What’s Next” panel. Prepare for your own treasure hunt in Kobolds & Catacombs. What's Your Winningest Card Back?

0 komentar

With the Hearthstone Inn-vitational (HSI) about to light up the stage at BlizzCon, we asked the competitors a truly challenging question: Which card back is your go-to when you really want to win, and why? Some of their answers may surprise you. Kripparrian Octavian ‘Kripparrian’ Morosan is a force of nature (but not a Force of Nature!) in the Hearthstone scene, and he knows it. Kripp said, “From all the Hearthstone I see, my own experience takes up the largest chunk of time—so the ‘winningest’ card back must be the one I’ve used for the longest time, right?” “While I cycle between most of the new card backs these days, the one I used the most in the past four years of Hearthstone is the Magni card back. IT’S HAMMER TIME!” RDU Some players just want that little bit of swagger. Dima ‘RDU’ Radu is one of them, and he goes straight for the stylish jugular. “The Golden Celebration card back is by far the best, because it’s the most exclusive,” he said. (It's only available after finishing at a high level in an approved esports event.) “Only used that one since I first unlocked it!” NaviOOT If you’re a long-time card player, maybe you’re all about that foil life. Alex ‘NaviOOT’ Ridley is right there with you: “To no surprise, the card back I think is the ‘winningest’ is the Golden Celebration card back.” “Something that was always cool to me when I played ‘paper’ card games was trying to ‘foil out’ your deck—having cards in alternate rarities from what they normally were, or even alternate languages or art, was always something cool to look at—and the Golden Celebration card back appeals to that side of me. It also represents the work it took to qualify for Last Call in 2016, which is what I got it for.” J4CKIECHAN Jack ‘J4CKIECHAN’ Hutton's card back needs to ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ GIVE ENERGY ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ, so he relies on the tastiest choice: “The Pie card back gives you the energy you need to top-deck Prince Keleseth on turn two,” he said. Disguised Toast Of course a man disguised as breakfast would want to be sneaky. Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang hopes to conceal his power level from your scouter: “Classic card back is the way to go,” he said. “With the other card backs, you give away a bit of information about your Hearthstone history. With Classic, you can be a three-year veteran or a day-one beginner, leaving your opponent clueless about the true strength of your Hearthstone skills. Psychological warfare.” Ant The lovable Anthony ‘Ant’ Trevino may seem gentle on the outside, but it turns out he’s on a ruthless quest to dominate his opponents: “I’d say the best card back has to be Golden Celebration. Since it is so hard to obtain, it strikes fear into the hearts of your enemies whenever they come across it.” “If opponents are brave enough to take you on after seeing the card back, the shine from it being solid gold can blind your opponents and make it nearly impossible to look at.” Pathra We all know this feeling—the sadness of a card back we’ll never get to call our own. Pathra Cadness laments the one that got away: “The Legacy of the Void card back—it’s unattainable to me, and it’s the best-looking card back in my opinion.” These are the critical card-back tactics of seven of the talented players destined to do glorious battle at BlizzCon. Have they chosen wisely, or will their pathetic card back choices betray them? Tune in for the Hearthstone Inn-vitational this weekend to find out!

November 2017 Ranked Play Season: Hooked on a Reelin'

0 komentar

The November Ranked Play Season is now live—and we’re unveiling a new card back you can add to your collection! Every good angler knows the keys to success: proper bait, ideal weather conditions, a sharp hook, and a bucket of patience. This month’s card back is a real catch: Gone Fishin’ can be yours by playing Hearthstone during the month of November. These card backs replace the art decorating the reverse side of your cards and are a great way to show off your Hearthstone accomplishments. Add the Gone Fishin’ card back to your collection by hitting Rank 20 in either Standard or Wild Ranked Play modes. You’ll receive the Gone Fishin’ card back at the end of November’s Ranked Play Season in your Ranked Play reward chest. You earn Ranked Play reward chests based on your highest earned rank over the course of a Ranked Play season. Reward chests may contain seasonal card backs, Arcane Dust, and golden cards, and can be obtained by playing in either Standard or Wild Ranked Play modes. You’ll be awarded one chest per Ranked Play season based on your highest rank between the two modes. Don’t forget—the further you move up the Ranked Play ladder, the more bonus stars you’ll receive next season. In Ranked Play, you’ll receive bonus stars based on your performance from the previous season—one bonus star per rank you attained. Please note that even if bonus stars from the previous season get you directly to Rank 20 or above, you still have to log in at least once each Ranked Season to qualify for the card back reward. Show your opponents the who the “reel” Hearthstone pro is with November’s Ranked Play Season card back: Gone Fishin’!
